About The Author

Gary Barksdale, MBA, SPHR SHRM-SCP—has more than 40 years of experience in the world of human resources. He's worked in an impressive range of fields, including education, healthcare, consulting, manufacturing, and more. As an HR generalist, he's worked for decades at the level of director or higher. Mr. Barksdale is certified as SPHR, SHRM-SCP by the Society for Human Resources Management. He also has special training in transformative mediation and conflict resolution, investigative techniques, managing organization change, and compensation plan design to include both fixed and variable compensation options. Mr. Barksdale has served as adjunct faculty for Eastern Kentucky University teaching Human Resources in the Public Sector, and the SHRM certification preparation course.
